Help wanted to throw people around

Plans to start the first dwarf tossing league in the UK are underway in Hackney.

Two local residents are looking for a suitable space in London and to recruit competitors of all sizes.

Dwarf throwing is thought to have originated in Australia in the 1980s. The last world championships, won by a British team, were held there in 1986. Contestants compete to throw their partner, who wears special padded clothing, the furthest distance.

The current world record stands at a throw of 12 feet, nine inches.
